Who you are buying from, what you receive, and how a refund works. If anything here is unclear, write to award@aicu.ai before you pay.
| Who sells to you | AICU Inc., a Delaware corporation. It sells in US dollars, and it is the company that receives your payment. If you ask to be billed in Japanese yen with a qualified invoice, that transaction is sold instead by AICU Japan K.K. The two are separate companies; which one you deal with follows the entity and the currency you choose. |
|---|---|
| Who is responsible | Akihiko SHIRAI — Chief Executive Officer, AICU Inc.; Representative Director, AICU Japan K.K. |
| How to reach us | award@aicu.ai — the award office. We reply within 3 business days, in Japanese or English. Registered addresses and a telephone number are disclosed in writing, without delay, to anyone who asks at that address. We do not publish a phone number here: the award office is a small team, and a published number draws far more unsolicited sales calls than genuine questions. |
| What you are buying | Award Supporter (individual sponsorship) — USD 10, once. You are credited by name, and you receive a vote in the final round of each field, cast with your comment and your critique attached. Entry review fee — USD 10 per work, charged at the moment you submit that work. Partner sponsorship — GOLD 6,900 USD / SILVER 2,300 USD / BRONZE 690 USD. These are digital: there is nothing shipped, and no physical goods. |
| Price and taxes | Prices are in US dollars and are what you pay. If your card was issued outside the United States, your bank may add a currency-conversion fee — that fee is your bank's, not ours. For a yen-billed transaction through AICU Japan, Japanese consumption tax (10%) is shown and applied at checkout, and the amount in yen is shown before you confirm. |
| How you pay | Credit card, through AICU Checkout. Card details never reach us. Corporate sponsorship can also be paid by bank transfer against a qualified invoice (handled by AICU Japan). Everything above is charged once, at the moment you press the button. Nothing renews, and nothing recurs. |
| When you receive it | Award Supporter: your credit and your final-round vote take effect the moment the payment completes. The final round itself opens on the date given in the regulations. Entry review: screening begins when you submit the work. |
| Refunds | Award Supporter: full refund within 14 days, as long as you have not yet voted. Once you have voted, the vote and the critique attached to it are part of the public record, and withdrawing them would change a result other people rely on. Entry review fee: full refund within 14 days while the work is still a draft. Once screening has started, the work of reviewing it has been done. Write to award@aicu.ai. We reply within 3 business days and, where a refund is due, return it to the card you paid with. |
| Governing law | These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA — except where the consumer law of your own country gives you rights that this cannot take away. Nothing here limits those rights. |
| What you need | A current version of a major web browser (Chrome / Safari / Edge / Firefox) and an internet connection. |
A yen-billed purchase is sold by AICU Japan K.K. The disclosure required by Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions is aimed at sales to individual consumers; we set it out here for reference.
